It’s getting there…slowly but surely….sort of. Took a bit better picture this time and adjusted the colours to be more true to life. 

Okay, so this made me lol. And also, WHERE in the Arndale, eh?

A lineart sketch. Mostly so I could design an outfit. XD Yay for designing outfits! Dunno if I’ll ever colour this one, but…

(Oh, and that bottom bit’s supposed to be transparent…might have fudged that a bit here and there. Lol.) 

Yet another wip, this one I revisited after many years and improved on…which it badly needed. I won’t horrify anyone with the original version. Egads. Anyway, was going for your typical old-school portrait. No refs. 

…and I probably need to lower/raise one of those shoulders. Okay, note to self. 

I like this piece of advice :D

Started a new oil painting. 22x28in. It’s going to be a portrait-type thing for my friend. Anyway, started off with the rocks/water. GACK. WATER. In my defence, it’s my first time (sort of) so I’m just kind of experimenting here. If anyone has any advice on how to paint water please do tell! Anyway, just sort of laying foundations and colours…no details really. Working from the bottom up too. Hmmm…

Oh, and I’ve got a reference photo.  

I got my hands on Florence + The Machine’s Ceremonials CD. So inspiring. Anyone else notice she’s got an obsession with falling? 

Anyway, just started painting, using a very textured brush. Just using that brush I kind of went overboard on the colours XD Yay, muddy colours! Whatever, I’m not fussed. Just a quick speedpaint, but I kind of like it…No textures/references used, just the brush and my poor knowledge of anatomy :D 

Sooo…Ignore bad anatomy plznthx 
(Also, uploading it seems to have de-saturated the colours a little :( Not cool. I must remember to paint in web-supported colours next time…) 

(And yes, she’s missing her arm. Think of that what you will, but really, I was just too lazy to paint it.)
